well, here we are again…

Another month, another blog post.

I think I think about something I’d like to post nearly every day. I used to be so vigilant about at least doing a couple days a week. Not anymore, and not real sure why, but I think I have an excuse, if not a good reason (besides lazy).

Years back, when Husband would find me sitting and reading, he’d say “Whatcha reading?” or “Good book?” It took me a looong time to figure out that that meant I needed to put the book down, he had things to tell me. I got quite twitchy about it eventually, and today I find it difficult to read a book at all.

I think I did the same thing with blogging. It takes so much time for me to do a proper post, it bleeds into time I really need to be doing other things – fixing dinner, cleaning up after dinner, laundry, feeding the cats, sweeping &. mopping. I haven’t got the energy to do all those things like I used to anymore, and blogging just adds to the list of Things I Don’t Get Done In A Timely Manner. Things I enjoy so much have gone by the wayside, because I can’t muster enough energy to do them…I barely keep up with the chores that MUST be done, for cryin’ out loud. The bathroom is a mess, the floors haven’t been mopped – or even swept! – in weeks. As a former professional housekeeper, I am sorely embarrassed at the state of my own home.

My Padres did well this year, the Braves did just fine, and now I’m counting on the Astros to bring me some joy in the World Series.

My granddaughter is in the high school band colour guard, with a trip to London’s New Year Day parade coming up just after Christmas. Their routine is tribute to Queen Elizabeth, who unfortunately passed on before she got to see them perform. They are good. As a former subject of Her Majesty, I believe she’d have loved it, & if he attends, I hope the new King is as touched as I was.

Husband had his knee replaced a couple weeks ago, is walking a mile every other day at a local park, & is planning a couple days of hiking in Torreya State Park in January. What a grand relief he’s on the mend.

Another trip to Indiana coming up next week. Looking forward to seeing Billy & Jennifer, and Cousins & Auntie. Once a year isn’t enough time to completely catch up, dammit!

I’m going to try to get some rest tonight…time change coming just pisses me off, but I will endure…and curse those who make such stoopid decisions till my last breath.
